Nigerian startup set to launch first fleet of electric Taxis

According to reports, Possible EVs are electric taxis specially designed for passenger transport, aimed at providing last-mile solutions for both inter and intra-city trips.

Nigerian mobility startup, Possible EVs is poised to revolutionize public transportation and pave the way for a greener Nigeria.

According to reports, Possible EVs is set to launch Nigeria’s first fleet of electric taxis with an initial fleet of 30 units. The electric taxis are specially designed for passenger transport and are aimed to provide last-mile solutions for both inter and intra-city trips.

The fleet will also offer options of shared rides to make it cost effective and eliminate the occurrence price surge.

The ‘zero emission’ characteristic of electric vehicles make them a huge contribution to cleaner and greener urban environments.

With the provision of this eco-friendly transportation alternative, Possible EVs intends to also raise awareness for the benefits of electric vehicles and encourage the adoption of sustainable transportation practices in Nigeria. 

CEO and founder of Possible EVS, Mosope Olaosebikan, according to reports, spoke about the novel transportation systems ;

To ensure easy access to reliable and convenient charging infrastructure, Possible EVs will reportedly establish charging stations across the city of Abuja, which serves as the pilot program for future expansions. This will also aid seamless operations of the system and reduce concerns of range anxiety.

On safety, space and user friendliness, Olaosebikan said, “Our vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art features, including spacious interiors, advanced safety systems, and user-friendly technology, and our plans to install fast-charging infrastructure across key locations will ensure convenient access to charging stations and minimize any concerns about range anxiety.” 

Possible EVs is an Africa based company simplifying and accelerating the adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Nigeria. 

Founded in 2021, the Abuja based startup has plans to expand across major Nigerian countries and increase from the initial 30 units of electric taxis in its first fleet to over 200 units by the middle of next year.
