Following the announcement by the Chairman and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, to unleash a new wave of expression for users around the world, the company has gone on to create a ‘family of apps’ rather than just being a single app. This announcement which was made at the F8 developers’ conference in March has since then brought about a number of enhancements to the Facebook Messenger and other Facebook communication apps which makes communication easy for users, particularly for businesses. Some of these enhancements include:
Caller ID for Messenger
This is the most recent feature announced by Facebook. It enables you to know more about who is trying to connect with you. According to the Vice President of Messaging products, David Marcus, the feature enables you to have a better context of the caller seeing that the caller’s photo appears alongside details relating to the caller. The feature adds details from your public information which could include your location and occupation.
Hello
This is an android app that shows a caller’s Facebook profile information when the phone starts to ring.
Video Calling for Messenger
This enables Android and iOS users to launch video chats with one tap from any previous Messenger conversation.
