Sports and tech have made a new connection, thanks to news of Messi Gold iPhone 14 Pros which were given to Argentinian players. The gold plated iPhones were a gift from football star Lionel Messi to his Argentine teammates after their FIFA World Cup win. A total of 35 customized iPhones were given to the team, both players and staff.
Following the world cup win, Messi went on to win the best FIFA men’s player award. On the inside, they are iPhone 14 Pros, but outside, they are a 24-karat gold asset.
The customization was done by iDesign Gold and each device costs around £4,000. This is a whopping sum of money for a device, but considering the situation, it makes an impressive gift. Beyond the the gold plaque is the design imprinted on the precious metal.
On the back of one device, just next to the camera bump, is a Messi imprint and the number he plays (10) on the national team. Other devices have similar imprints with the names of the players and the numbers they wear.
On the devices’ MagSafe area is the Argentine football team flag with three stars. Each star represents each world cup trophy the team won, with the latest star being the 2022 tournament. The last design element on the devices is the name of the designer.
The Messi Gold iPhone 14 Pros are a gift that will remain dear to the Argentine football team. While the phones are quite pricey, they aren’t the most expensive tech gifts a football team ever received.
