Samsung has announced it is unveiling an updated version of the original Notebook 7 Spin that was introduced back in 2016. The new version features a quad-core eight-gen Intel Core i5 processor and support for an Active Pen stylus, while also cutting down on the weight for a lighter design.
The new version features a 360-degree rotating display just like the original one — with the added stylus support, the ability to turn it into a tablet becomes a lot more useful. Samsung has also added a fingerprint reader to the Notebook 7 Spin, which supports Windows Hello for quick log-ins.
The Verge reported that the rest of the specs for the Notebook 7 Spin are pretty standard: 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and one port each for USB-C, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and HDMI.
Unlike the original model, which offered both a 15-inch and 13-inch size, Samsung is only offering a 13-inch model this year, with features a fairly lackluster 1080p resolution. Rounding out the hardware are a backlit keyboard and Windows Precision Trackpad, which are both nice to see even on a more mid-range model like this.
The Notebook 7 Spin will be available later this year, although no price or firm release window has been announced yet.
