Samsung flags off pre-order for Galaxy S4 in Nigeria

Leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, Samsung Electronics West Africa, has announced a date for formally unveiling the fourth generation of its flagship Galaxy S series, the Samsung Galaxy S4, in Nigeria. The device will be introduced to the Nigerian market in Lagos on May 10, 2013, at a fashion-themed show aimed at encouraging growth in the local fashion industry.

The company is already accepting pre-orders for the 5-inch, full HD display flagship device on various online stores in the country ahead of its May release date. Customers who take advantage of the pre-order offer are entitled to a free leather flip cover. They also stand a chance to win a ticket to the official launch of the device.

The beauty of the Samsung Galaxy S4 lies in its highly crafted design, encompassing a larger screen size, battery and minimized bezel, all housed in a light and slim shape. The device is slimmer yet stronger than its predecessor, the Galaxy S3, with less to hold yet more to see and will be available in two colour options at its launch – Black Mist and White Frost. Additional colour options are to follow later in the year.

Describing the device as a “life companion”, Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Brovo Kim said that the Galaxy S4 is a product of Samsung’s commitment to redefining the way people live towards maximizing their fulfilment of life.

“With the Galaxy S4, Samsung is again going to enhance the way we live. All the innovative features of GALAXY S4 were developed based on the insights and needs we found from our consumers all around the world. Following the successful Galaxy S series, this phone is yet another great proof point of people-inspired innovation. At Samsung we’ll never stop pursuing innovation conceived by people, so we can inspire them in return,” he said.

The Galaxy S4 runs on Google’s latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and features 2GB of RAM. The most notable improvement in the Galaxy S4 lies in its camera, which now features various modes to allow users to capture photos from sporting events or in low-light conditions with just one touch. Its dual-shot function will allow users to take pictures and videos with both the 13-megapixel rear camera and front-facing 2-megapixel camera at the same time and combine the input from both cameras into one final product.
