Social Media Week Lagos is a week-long conference that provides the ideas, trends, insights and inspiration to help people and businesses understand how to achieve more in a hyper-connected world. It features a central stage for keynotes and panels, multiple rooms for workshops, masterclasses and presentations, and an area dedicated to co-working, networking and interactive installations.
This year’s Social Media Week will kick off between February 27 to March 3, 2017 at the Landmark event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. It marks their 5th anniversary and it will involve businesses, bloggers, musicians, activists, citizens from Nigeria and around the world who will meet up to network, share ideas and explore the unique, social, economic and cultural impact of social media in Africa
The 2017 SMW Lagos theme is “The [new] Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa.” It’s going to explore how technology is creating a “new language” and what that means for the future of communication in Africa.
Annually over 12,000 people participate in the conference, with a global online reach of 810 million and over 300 speakers. Some of the speakers include;
