Nigerian own SOLO Phone has again introduced 3 new mobile devices into the market. The SOLO S400, S410 and the S500 were unveiled at a media event in Lagos yesterday.
SOLO phone is a Nigerian Startup device manufacturing and digital content company committed to offering consumers in emerging markets like Nigeria affordable and elegant smartphones with best content.
SOLO phone is an Android based device that leverages on music and movies as unique digital content offers to target market by offering free music and movie download. Users are offered downloads of over 20 million songs, several Nollywood and Hollywood (coming in few weeks) movies right on their SOLO devices.
SOLO is premised on the belief that the primary platform for the delivery and consumption of digital contents and services in the emerging market will be the mobile platform, hence SOLO Phones are designed for Nigerians to deliver outstanding multimedia contents and customer experience via two platforms: the SOLO Music and the SOLO View
SOLO Music platform is embedded with over 20 million songs and gives users unlimitedstreaming and download access for free. The platform consist of both local and international songs, thanks to the partnership with foreign labels like Sony, universal records and local labels like EME, Chocolate city, Storm records.

SOLO View platform allows you download Nollywood movies on your phone. Hollywood movies will also be delivered in coming weeks. The company is also providing Hotspot solutions to ease download headaches experienced by the GSM operators. With the SOLO Hotspot, you can download a full length movie of about 500Mb in less than 2 minutes.
The SOLO S400 is a low end affordable product with a 4-inch display, 512MB RAM, 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor 4GB internal memory, , a 1500mAh battery, a 3.2 MP primary camera with flash and a VGA front camera. The S400 cost just N13,000.
The SOLO S410 is also a 4-inch phone with improvements on the S400. It has a quad-core processor, more premium build, 5MP camera and 1500mAh battery. The S410 comes to market with all the experience for N17,000.
The SOLO S500 is a flagship high end product. It is a slim device with 5-inch IPS HD display screen, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, 8 MP camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. The S500 sells for N33,500.
Customers on Airtel and Etisalat network that purchase any of the SOLO devices, in addition to the digital content experience will get 500MB of free data every month for the next 12 months.
In November 2013, the company introduced two products into the market, the SOLO S350 and the S450. So far all the S350 has been sold and phased out. The S450 will soon be exhausted and phased out. These achievements were as a result of expanding distribution channels and building strategic partnerships.
