Sony has announced 3 new smartphones at the ongoing Mobile world Congress 2016. Dubbed an “evolution of the Xperia brand” by the company, the 3 new devices are the Xperia X, Xperia X Performance and the Xperia XA.
All three phones have 5 inch screens and the same premium-looking cases and rounded glass fronts we’re accustomed to seeing on Sony smartphones.
The Xperia X and X Performance are the higher end devices. Both come with full HD display, finger print sensor, 3GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage (expandable to 200 GB with a microSd card) as well as a 23MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera respectively.
The major differences between both of these devices is that the X Performance comes with a Qualcom Snapdragon 820 Processor and a 2700mAh battery while the X comes with a Qualcom Snapdragon 650 processor and a 2620mAh, thus making the Xperia X Performance faster than the Xperia X.
Another important feature on both the X and X Performance is the addition of Sony’s new camera technology which it calls ‘predictive hybrid Autofocus’. According to Sony, this feature allows the user to choose a subject and then it predicts the object’s motion so the user can capture action in perfect focus without any blur.
The Xperia XA is not as powerful as the other 2 and will be sold as a ‘super mid-range device’. It comes with a 13 MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, 2300mAh battery, 16GB of internal memory (expandable to 200 GB with a microSd card), 2GB of Ram and a MediaTek MT6755 processor
All three phones come in four colours; rose Golf, White, Lime Gold and Graphite Black. They will be available for purchase this summer.
