The popular music service, Spotify is no longer just a music service but also a video and podcast platform. This was announced today as the company shared its new goal of finding the perfect content to accompany every moment in your day. The company has decided to take a massive leap forward, adding both video and podcast service to its platform which delivers just music and music. Yes!! You can now stream videos on Spotify.
This means that content providers on the service can now deliver both audio and visual contents to users of the service.
Spotify’s expanded services is as a result of the growing competition it’s been facing recently from other streaming music platforms like Jay Z’s Tidal which provides consumers with exclusive music videos, live concerts and Apple’s Beat Music.
Spotify also listed a list of content partners for its new service, these include ESPN, ABC, NBC, Comedy Central, MTV, E! among others. Lots of popular podcast networks will also be available within the app.
