10 startups selected to pitch at Startup World Cup Nigeria regional 2019

In a bid to provide innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities for startups around the world, Startup World Cup runs a platform that consists of a global series of startup conferences and competitions that bring together phenomenal startups, VCs, and world-class tech CEOs.

Startups worldwide will first compete at regional events, and the regional finalists will showcase themselves at the Grand Finale event – taking place on the 17th of May 2019 – in San Francisco to compete for a US$1,000,000 investment prize.

Following calls for applications, 10 startups out of about 70 have been selected for the regional finale in Nigeria.

In no particular order, the 10 are:

Passion Incubator, a technology startup incubator based in Lagos, is the exclusive regional partner for the 2019 Startup World Cup in Nigeria. 

The regional finale is set to take place on February 9th 2019, at Civic Hive (42, Montgomery Road, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos). There, the selected 10 will pitch for 4 minutes with a 2 minutes Q&A session following immediately.

The judges, comprising Olusola Amusan, founder of Coven Works, Emmanuel Adegboye, Entrepreneurship Center Manager at Andela, Brian Odhiambo, Associate Director at Novastar Ventures, and Dayo Koleowo, Principal Investment Officer at Microtraction, will select one winner to represent Nigeria at the Grand Finale.

Also at the event, a fireside chat themed “How to be highly competitive and secure investment” will hold. It will be moderated by Damilola Thompson, Senior Corporate Counsel at Echo VC, with the judges doubling as speakers alongside Evgeny Pobegailo, Investment Associate at Fenox VC.
