Samsung unveiled its first device of the year, the Galaxy S22 series. It was a fully-packed launch held in several parts of the world, and TechCity was there to witness the launch and try the device first-hand. One notable feature that stood out for us was learning that the Galaxy S22 is made with repurposed ocean-bound discarded fishing nets.
On the same day, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 11 series, which comprises the Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11S, and Redmi Note 11. TechCity documented the launch and spotted tech reviewers, Fisayo Fosudo, Miss Techy, Eric Okafor & Henreeneo at the launch who got first dibs on the superior specs of the phone.
This week, Jiji fully acquired Tonaton, its Ghanian competitor. This makes it the third acquisition of the company in recent years, with OLX being first in 2019 and Cars45 in 2021.
