Microsoft has acquired LinkedIn. Specifically, the companies said they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Microsoft will acquire LinkedIn for $196 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at $26.2 billion, inclusive of LinkedIn’s net cash. LinkedIn will retain its distinct brand, culture and independence. Jeff Weiner will remain CEO of LinkedIn, reporting to Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. “The LinkedIn team has grown a fantastic business centered on connecting the world’s professionals,” Nadella said. “Together we can accelerate the growth of LinkedIn, as well as Microsoft Office 365 and Dynamics as we seek to empower every person and organization on the planet.”
To boost revenue collection, the Tanzania government has imposed new taxes on financial services including mobile money. These new taxes implemented include 18% to bank fees and commissions in the form of value-added tax and 10% excise duty for sending and withdrawing money through mobile phone money transfer. It would interest you to know that Tanzania has a growing mobile money user base with 16 Million subscribers across various channels.
So, in the wake of the Orlando shooting, there was a viral post where a guy by the name Pablo Reyes on Facebook apparently predicted last year on 27th December several incidences we have seen happen recently. It read: CALL ME CRAZY BUT IN 2016 HILLARY CLINTON WILL BE THE FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT, THE WORLD WILL GO CRAZY OVER THE DEATH OF A GORILLA, PRINCE WILL DIE, MUHAMMAD ALI WILL DIE, KIMBO SLICE WILL DIE, DONALD TRUMP WILL DIE. THE USA WILL EXPERIENCE THE WORST MASS SHOOTING..I’M NOT TRYING TO SCARE ANYONE BUT YOU’LL REMEMBER MY NAME.” Comments reacting to that post showed people were in awe of the supposed accuracy of the post. However, upon further investigation, by way of just checking the edit history of the post on facebook, we notice that the post was edited about 8 hours before on June 13 while the original post actually read: WHITE PEOPLE OUTSIDE TAKING SELFIES WITH TORNADOES AND SH**!
