Tecno telecom Limited is at it again with its latest effort, the Tecno Phantom Z Mini. It was released few months after the release of the ‘senior brother’, the Phantom Z. While the performance of the Phantom Z was overwhelming when you look at the design and specs sheet, it is not surprising that the company quickly took that advantage to offer the customers a ‘younger brother’.
The Phantom Z Mini wants to offer an affordable phone for those who think the 5.2-inch Phantom Z is too big or a bit too pricey. While i agree with the sentiment of the reduced price objective considering comments from some people saying they cannot buy a Tecno phone for about N60,000, i tend to disagree looking at the size which sits at 5-inches. It is well known that a 5-inch phone is still relatively large.
The question of whether the Phantom Z Mini will pack the same specs with the full size Z will be dealt with in a full review (make sure you watch this space for the review), Lets first open up the pack and have a first look and impression of the new flagship product.
The phone and its accessories are all packed into a blue case, you have the phone, the charger, earpiece, a smart cover which i think will be in limited numbers and the phone manual, SIM extractor all bundled into the offering.
There goes the phone sitting just on the inside as we took the cover off the box.
The phone looks pretty slim, metal lining round the edge of the gives it a premium feel. The back of the phone isn’t faux like the Phantom Z, its actually flat, shiny with the bold Tecno inscription. There is a camera 13MP camera at the back with flash while the front camera sits at 8MP.
Opening further into the box, you will find the smart flip cover which comes in black, brown, blue and purple colours. The one found here is brown colour.
Further inside the box are three neatly arranged white boxes, The biggest of the three contains the phone manual, SIM card extractor and a warranty card….
….while the other two smaller boxes contain the USB chargers and earpiece respectively.
And there we have it, after opening up the whole pack, here is all we have…
I then inserted SIM cards into the device and put it on, honestly the sharp display immediately caught my attention.
I wont begin to tell you what the phone can do now, we leave that now and trash it out in the full phone review which will come soon but before you have that, here is a quick run down of the specification on the Mini….
