Smartphones have become a part of our daily lives and everyday consumers’ thirst for better functioning devices increase. Although it could be difficult to find a premium smart phone that doesn’t weigh heavy on the pocket, a few manufacturers have been able to beef up more than average spec into affordable phones and get it delivered to the reach of the consumers.
Top smart phone brands have failed time and again in striking that balance in giving customers premium smart phones that will give them all the best-of-the-best UIs, Dual cameras, apps and general audio/ visual entertainment without putting deep holes that take time to seal up into their pockets
However, Tecno Mobile has found that balance between, being a premium smart phone and staying affordable for consumers with its upcoming lollipop 5.0 Android devices.
I was at the Ikeja office of Tecno Mobile to meet with the Music Resource team working on a music library-kind-of-thing for their Boom player app (it’s a music app like iTunes of Apple). It turned out to be a very informal session, seated at the meeting room my eyes caught the exact Lollipop smartphone i wrote about last week which i saw with a Tecno representative, my contact had it placed on the table. He excused himself to answer an incoming call on his other phone, that was when I got my chance!
Swiftly, I picked the phone, looked through its specifications, took some pictures in a hurry and placed it back in position right on time before my contact walked in. At least I’d done enough “spying” to write about the phone and get readers prepared for what Tecno is about to launch:
Two things made a first impression on me: the physical build and the camera support features. Holding the phone in my hands gave me such a premium feel, I was almost certain it will be an official flagship device. It spots a 13MP Auto Focus camera with two LED flash, the front camera comes with a flash too. It was exciting to see this because because i always had the feeling that the front camera flash feature was just for the Phantom Z series. My guess for the front camera was right at 5MP.
An interesting highlight of this device will be the camera shutter button, which makes it a lot quicker and easier to take pictures in selfie mode and on-the-go. I’m almost convinced that the main focus on this device is on the camera quality, although i didn’t have the luxury of time to play around with the camera.
A quick look at the storage and memory of this misery smart phone, internal memory is 16GB with a 1GB RAM. The RAM capacity of this smart phone might seem like nothing out-of-the- ordinary but that doesn’t place its speed in the bland category-not bad at all.
With a wide screen display, about the size of an iPhone 6 Plus, the view is impressive with vivid colours, soft touch response and definitely a HD screen.
When I asked my contact about the phone in the course of our discussion, he made light the superiority of this upcoming smart phone when he said the price will be in region of N20,000! I still cant believe that anyway but if this appears to be true then this phone could probably be the ‘Best buy’ for smart phones this 2015 half year!
After the meeting was over, i asked for the name of the device and he said its a Camon C8.
so no personal reviews about this phone yet? or no expectations?
Review coming in soon….
Looks impressive. Kudos to Tecno.
This is a fantastic development. Please any news on the battery life? Let my joy be complete.
I’m just really happy about all I’ve read concerning this phone. #TeamTecno
Nice
VERY. One of the coolest Tecno devices I’ve handled so far
This review you have made of the phone is seeming as though it was more than a spy move joor. But it does looks fresh, the graphics and camera.
Still feels like the best so far, apart from the Phantom 5 competitor.
-claps- Tecno outdid this one. I like the price too
True, considering the price of the Phantom 5.
PT5 has some incredible specs too o. I think the price compensates just well.
