In a recent tweet, Twitter showed off its edit button, which is ready but not yet public. The tweet was shared by the Twitter Blue page, where the company made an edit to an existing post.

The edit button which had become something of a clamor has received mixed reactions from Twitter users now that it is here. While some insist that it takes away the original state of tweets, a few others are hype about the news. Once available, the edit button will not be accessible to everyone and could remain exclusive to Blue users. This subscription service on Twitter became available on the 3rd of June 2021.

Its rollout will start with countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand before making its way to the global community. Now, how does this feature work?

Once available, users will employ the edit button present on a tweet to make any adjustments and repost. If an edit is made to a tweet, other users will be able to tell from the “last edited” stamp at the base of the tweet beside the date. By tapping on the stamp, those viewing the edited tweet will see the previous tweet made before the edit.

This is a feature that users of the app have demanded for over the years. Now they will be able to make use of the edit feature for $4.99 monthly for a Twitter Blue subscription. The feature will begin rolling out in the coming weeks to select regions, the global rollout will come in the months ahead.
