Ever since it first rolled out on Nexus phones this year, Google’s newest version for Android – the Android 6.0 Marshmallow has slowly began to find its way into more devices. Reports at this time suggest that the update will soon roll out on some select Samsung devices. According to a chart on Timesnews, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will get the Android Marshmallow update next month.
In January 2016, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 are expected to get the update too, followed by the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 the month after that. Reports also tell us that the Galaxy Alpha and the Samsung Galaxy S5 have been listed in the ‘Phase 1’ roll out, but are still awaiting approval.
Older Samsung devices seem to have been scheduled for the ‘Phase 2’ roll-out. These devices include the Samsung Galaxy E5, E7, A3, A5, A7 and A8. We believe that this ‘Phase 2’ roll-out will coincide with the the second quarter of 2016.
Anyways, we’re sure glad that Samsung will be doing these updates sooner than later.
