Top 10 Android Facebook Apps

Top-10-Best-Android-Facebook-apps

Regardless of what we may think, Facebook is still the number one social site out there. Even though most of us are over on Twitter all the time, many of us are still using Facebook on occasion. So we’ve gone through the thousands of apps on the Play Store and found the top 10 best Facebook apps, this includes Facebook messaging apps as well. So let’s get it started with number ten.

10. Scope

Tired of having Twitter, Foursquare and Facebook apps all on your phone? Well Scope might be the solution. Scope is the Android version of SocialScope for Blackberry which has been beta for a long time on that platform and quite awhile in the Android world as well. It’s not on the Play Store and anyone can use it. You can use Scope to keep track of your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare, and Tumblr all in one nifty app.

9. Hootsuite

Hootsuite is another app similar to Scope. With Hootsuite you can manage multiple social networks all at once. This includes Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. It also works a lot faster than the official Facebook app, but the UI isn’t as nice looking. In fact it could use a major overhaul, hopefully Hootsuite is listening and will redo the interface soon.

8. Friendcaster Chat for Facebook

Friendcaster is just a third-party Facebook app. No other social networks involved here. As Friendcaster says “Experience Facebook Chat, Done Right” and we actually agree. The interface is much nicer and noticeably faster than the official Facebook, which we’ll get to a bit later. So if you’re looking for a new Facebook chat app, Friendcaster Chat might be the one you’re looking for.

7. Friendcaster for Facebook

Friendcaster is made by OneLouder Apps, the same guys that bring you Tweetcaster and BaconReader for Twitter and Reddit respectively. The Friendcaster app is a great alternative to the official Facebook app, if you like many others have problems with Facebook’s Android app.

6. Seesmic

Seesmic was originally a Twitter app. But later brought in support for Facebook along with Facebook pages. Seesmic is a pretty good looking app, with a great Interface and plenty of features. It does support multiple accounts so you can use your Facebook account along with all your pages and post to them all at the same time. Very cool and convenient.

5. Tweakdeck

Tweakdeck is a tweaked version of Tweetdeck. Since Twitter bought Tweetdeck a year ago, the Android app has not been updated since, and therefore doesn’t belong on our list. But Tweakdeck is a great app, it features many features that Tweetdeck left out. And it actually matches Twitter, unlike the yellow that Tweetdeck used. It still supports Facebook accounts as well.

4. BeejiveIM for Facebook Chat

BeejiveIM for Facebook Chat, is yet another Facebook chat app. And it’s only for the chat functionality of Facebook. So you won’t be able to browse through your timeline and like everyone’s status and pictures. It’s a well designed app that everyone loves. So if you’re looking for a chat app for Facebook. Check out BeejiveIM.

3. Go!Chat for Facebook

And here’s another chat app for Facebook. This is a very popular Facebook Messenger alternative and has been around for quite awhile. It doesn’t feature anything new or different than the official messenger app, except for speed and simplicity. Something Facebook hasn’t learned how to do with their official apps for Android.

2. Facebook Messenger

Here we are with the official Facebook Messenger app. This app has undergone some pretty significant updates lately. Including the ability to text people using your SMS plan through the app, replacing the stock messenger app. Now that’s something not everyone wants or is happy about. Many people don’t trust Facebook. But it is pretty smooth, at least in my opinion. So try it out.

1. Facebook

Here we are, down to number one on our list. It’s the official Facebook app. Now many of you may argue that this doesn’t belong here, and that’s its slow, buggy, etc. But since it is the official Facebook app, it belongs as number one simply because of that. You can do just about everything in the Facebook app as you can on Facebook’s website, except for use many of the apps. It just recently became native for Android, so it is a bit smoother now, but not by much.
