Twitter is testing a new feature called “Twitter Circle”

Over the past few months, Twitter has been working hard on more safety options for users. Its latest offering is the Twitter Circle!

Twitter has announced via its Safety page that it is working on a feature called “Twitter Circle,” similar to Instagram’s “close friends.” This feature will enable users to share their tweets with a small group of people – like close friends and family – thus, keeping it in the circle. With this feature, a user can select a maximum of 150 people who will be able to see and engage with their tweets.

Truthfully, everyone has their circle of friends and confidants, talking to these people within the “circle” helps keep the friendship strong. It also serves as a secure space free from external influence. Bringing this close circle to Twitter can help reduce the number of predator attacks netizens experience while online. The user also has the option to kick anyone they feel is no longer invited out of the circle.

While this feature is similar to the previously announced Twitter community, it serves a different purpose. Within a community, you can still have your circle of friends.

The Twitter Circle feature is still in the test stage and hasn’t been rolled out to the global community. Once it is out of the testing stage and ready to be used, it’ll come to everyone via an app update.
