WeChat Offers 1GB of Free Cloud Storage

Popular mobile messaging service, WeChat has announced to offer free 1 GB free cloud storage to its registered users for storing multimedia files and documents. This means that users need not worry about insufficient memory space on their memory cards or phone storage.

The text and voice communications service was developed by Chinese firm Tencent in January 2011 and has since garnered so much popularity as it allows users to instantly send messages, photos, videos as well as voice notes to each other. 

To get this service, users can click on the “Favorite” option and save any media file and message directly to the cloud. 

According to Nilay Arora, VP Marketing and Business Development, Tencent India, “The ‘Favorite Message with 1GB cloud storage’ feature enables users to save their favorite memories in the form of texts, videos and picture format without having to compromise on their device space and, also enables them to access these with just one touch whenever they want,”

The app is available on AndroidiPhoneBlackBerryWindows PhoneSymbian, and OS X platforms and it supports various language such as Chinese, English, Indonesian, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Malay, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Italian, Thai, Vietnamese, Hindi and Russian.
