What you need to know about the all new Huawei P9

Huawei P9

Huawei’s new flagship device the P9 is a 6.95mm thick, 5.2 inch device with a 1080p LCD display and an aluminium unibody case. It is powered by Huawei’s octa-core Kirin 955 processor and has a 3000 mAh battery

Its No. 1 selling point are its Leica certified cameras: All 3 models of the P9 come with two rear cameras. A traditional 12 MP camera and a 12 MP monochrome camera. According to Huawei, both cameras working together would triple the light information taken in by the device as well as improve contrast in pictures by 50%. It also comes with an 8 MP front camera with autofocus.

The P9 comes in three models:

The P9 Plus comes with a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display, a 3,400mAh battery, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

Looking at the pictures, the device looks slim, attractive and very much like a high end smartphone. Not surprised at that though because Huawei has been doing a good job in its phone designs particularly in recent years.

In Europe, the P9 will come with a microSD slot which would be replaced with a second SIM slot in China and other Asian markets. The Huawei P9 will be available for purchase by April 16th across the UK, Europe and Asia and the P9 Plus will be available for purchase by May 20 across the same regions. There’s however no word on when it’ll be available in other parts of the world.

Nigerians…we shall haff to wait be that.

The P9 will be available in titanium grey, mystic silver, rose gold and prestige gold colors while the enhanced P9 will be available in ceramic white and haze gold.
